The Shimano “Cardiff” features 4 bearings plus a roller bearing, diecast aluminum frame and a variable brake system which allows the user access to the brake weights without having to remove the spool. The 400 and 401 models have a non-disengaging levelwind system allowing the levelwind to trowel on the cast for smooth operation and a clicker alarm. (L stands for left hand model)
