Musky Shop Northwoods Fishing Report: Early March

Musky Shop Northwoods Fishing Report: Early March

James Stewart March 10, 2023

Greetings Everyone,

The game fish season in northern Wisconsin has come to an end.

Many anglers had great fishing seasons and many are still ice fishing for bass and panfish. Bass is catch and release only. One of our young staff members “Tbone” targets bass on many of his ice fishing outings and catches some really big largemouth bass. T Bone has been using Medium and Large Golden Shiners as well as large Pike mix. He has had great success catching largemouth bass up to 21.5".

Tip Up fishing has been great as well as tip down fishing as well. With the game fish ending now is the time to target bass for fun and panfish for fun and table fare. There's nothing better than a fish fry of freshly caught Crappies, Bluegills and Perch. We have a good selection of Ice rods for panfish with Tickle Stick rods being the favorite for many throughout the ice season.

We have a good selection of nice plastics that work great for late season ice panfish such as 13 Fishing Paralyzers, Bamf, Jeffrey, and Sneak. Don't forget about taking some Ratso's Jiggin Raps and Slab Raps for those late season Crappies and gills, big Perch love ‘em too.

We have a good selection of ice jigs too and Fresh Live Bait in good cold well water for lively long-lasting live bait. Ice conditions are still good with approximately 20" on most lakes, however one should always be as safe as possible as ice conditions can change quickly.

For ice conditions and fishing information, please feel free to contact us or stop by as it would be our honor to serve you. Thank you for all of your business support folks as we really appreciate you.

Good Fishing and God Bless, Jim Stewart
