Introducing Ramarack Lures: Handcrafted Canadian Musky Baits Built for Big Fish

At The Musky Shop, we're always looking for quality gear that brings something new to the water. That's why we're excited to introduce Ramarack Lures, a Canadian custom lure company combining handcrafted construction, innovative designs, and a passion for musky fishing.

Based in Mount Forest, Ontario, Ramarack Lures was founded by Roberto Mongiat and Aaron Arbic-Cohen. With backgrounds in the trades and a shared love for fishing, they've put their hands-on experience to work creating wooden musky baits designed to help anglers fish with confidence and put more muskies in the net.

Handcrafted Quality With a Purpose

Every Ramarack lure begins with locally sourced cedar wood, milled by Deep Roots Woodworking and dried in the shop. Each bait features hand-twisted stainless steel hook hangers and line ties, along with high-quality aluminum lips where the design calls for them. Every lure is precision water-tuned and tested to ensure it performs as intended.

Ramarack also embraces customization, giving anglers opportunities to experiment with different attachments and modifications to suit their fishing style. The founders welcome questions, custom-order inquiries, and feedback from anglers who want to share their ideas and fishing experiences.

That practical approach reflects the company's broader philosophy: create versatile, purposeful baits that help anglers adapt to changing conditions without feeling like they need a boat full of tackle for every situation.

Whether you're an experienced musky angler or just getting started, having a few well-designed lures that offer multiple presentation options can help simplify your approach and build confidence on the water.

Three standout options in the Ramarack lineup are the Live Eye Reaper, Rapture, and Reckon, each offering a different way to target big predators.

Live Eye Reaper: A Big Bait With an Unpredictable Action

When you want to make a serious statement, the Ramarack Live Eye Reaper delivers an oversized presentation. At just under 30 inches from lip to tail, it's the largest lure currently available from Ramarack Lures.

Designed to attract the attention of big predators, the Reaper combines its substantial profile with a wandering, unpredictable movement and side-to-side action. Its unique presentation gives anglers an option when they want to show muskies something different from a conventional crankbait.

Big baits can be useful when targeting larger predators or experimenting with a more substantial profile. The Reaper's distinctive action adds another element, creating a presentation designed to get noticed.

Because of its size, anglers should ensure their rods, reels, line, and overall setup are appropriate for safely casting and handling an oversized lure.  For musky anglers who enjoy pushing the limits of bait size, the Live Eye Reaper is an eye-catching addition to the tackle box.

Rapture: A Crankbait Built for Versatility

The Ramarack Rapture Crankbait offers a versatile option for anglers who want to adjust their presentation to changing conditions. Measuring 9 inches and weighing 8.5 ounces, the Rapture features an aluminum lip with two line-tie positions that influence its action.

The first position produces a wider, more pronounced wobble, while the second creates a tighter action suited to a slower retrieve. Having both options allows anglers to experiment with retrieve speed and movement to determine what fish respond to best.

The Rapture is designed for both casting and trolling. When casting, work it along weed edges and other productive structure where muskies may be waiting to ambush prey. When trolling, use it to cover open water and search for active fish.

This combination of adjustable action and fishing methods makes the Rapture a useful option for anglers who want flexibility from a single crankbait.

Specifications: 9 inches, 8.5 ounces, approximately 22 inches long including the lip.

Reckon: One Bait, Multiple Presentations

Versatility is at the heart of the Ramarack Reckon Jerk Bait. Designed to accept different attachments, the Reckon gives anglers several ways to change their presentation without switching to an entirely different lure.

In its natural configuration, the Reckon is a dive-and-rise bait, allowing anglers to work it with deliberate rod movements and create an up-and-down action. It can also be transformed into a swimbait by adding a paddle tail or adapted into a larger rubber-style presentation with a grub tail. Anglers can even fish it as a glide bait.

That adaptability makes the Reckon an intriguing option when muskies aren't responding to one particular presentation. Changing the attachment or retrieve gives anglers another way to experiment with action and profile throughout the day.

The bait features a built-in weight slot that accepts 1-ounce, 2-ounce, or 3-ounce weights, allowing anglers to adjust its weighting to suit their preferred setup and presentation.

At 8 inches and 11.6 ounces, the Reckon offers a substantial profile with multiple ways to fish it.

Any water, any situation, the Reckon will be ready.
